The Ph.D. degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in research and teaching at the university level as well as in industry. The candidacy for the Ph.D. program is typically five years. For more information about how to apply to these programs, please visit the School of Science's webpage. If you are not sure about the graduate degree programs, but want to try research at the University of Tokyo for a short term before you apply to either graduate program, you are encouraged to apply to the Kenkyusei program. If you have any specific questions about the programs in the Deparment of Chemistry, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
