緊急のメッセージ (Urgent Message)：在宅での研究・学習の要請

東京都内での新型コロナウイルスの拡大が止まらない状況にあること、そして、
埼玉県知事が県民に東京都への移動を控えるようにとの要請を出したことに鑑み、
本日以降の対応を、次期専攻長の磯部先生と緊急に協議しました。
その結果を踏まえ、化学専攻大学院学生・化学科学生に４月１０日（金）までは
可能な限り在宅での研究や学習を行うことを要請します。
今回の要請は、東京大学が３月２６日（木）に出した「平日においても、
教職員の自宅勤務、学生の自宅学習を推奨する。」というガイドラインに基づくものです。
今回の要請は強制力を持つものではありません。しかし、若い人でも感染すると
重症化することが示されており、東京都において感染者数が急激に伸びている状況を
深刻に捉えない訳にはいかないことから、今回の要請を出すに至りました。
今後も、感染の状況などの推移を注視し、ガイドラインを更新し皆さんに伝えます。

Urgent Message to Graduate and Undergraduate Students of Department of
Chemistry
In light of the fact that the spread of the novel coronavirus in Tokyo
has been accelerated and that the Governor of Saitama Prefecture has
requested the citizens to refrain from moving to Tokyo, I had urgent
discussion with Professor Hiroyuki Isobe, the next chair of the
department, about how we could handle this difficult situation.
Hereby I request all the graduate and undergraduate students of
Department of Chemistry to conduct research and study at home until
April 10 (Fri) as much as possible.
This request is based on the recommendation issued by the University of
Tokyo on Thursday, March 26, telling that “professors and researchers
should work at home and students should study at home even on weekdays.”
This request is not mandatory at all. However, considering that even
young people can be in serious condition once infected and that the
number of infected people is rapidly increasing in Tokyo, I consider
that it is inevitable to regard the current situation as extremely
serious. This is the reason why I came to this request today.
By monitoring carefully the status of the spread of the infection, we
will keep informing you of updated guidelines for you to follow.
