Cancellation of Degree Awarding Ceremony and Procedure of Degree Awarding

Important Message to Graduating Graduate-Course Students of Department of Chemistry,

In order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, the School of Science has decided to cancel the degree awarding ceremony for the doctor’s course graduating students, scheduled to be held on Monday, March 23rd and the degree awarding ceremonies for the master’s course graduating students at the respective departments, scheduled to be held on the same day.

Department of Chemistry has therefore decided to present the diplomas to the graduating students in the following manner:

1. Graduating students belonging to the laboratories on the Hongo Campus will receive their diplomas from their thesis supervisors. The awardees of the School of Science Research Encouragement Award will also receive the certificates from their thesis supervisors.

2. Graduating students belonging to the laboratories on the Komaba Campus and those belonging to the laboratories on the Kashiwa Campus will receive their diplomas at the Chemistry Department Office. The awardees of the School of Science Research Encouragement Award will also receive the certificates at the Chemistry Department Office.
Because the diplomas will not re-issued in principle, they will be given to you directly at the Chemistry Department Office and will not be sent to you by the on-campus mail service.

* Please receive your diplomas and certificates from your supervisors or at the Chemistry Department Office on or after Monday, March 23rd.
* Please ask your parents and other family members to refrain from visiting the university campus on this occasion in order to reduce the risk of infection and spread of the novel coronavirus.
