Chemistry enables us to understand, utilize, control, mimic, modify, and recreate biological systems. By chemically manipulating biological events and functions at the molecular level, we address novel research themes in a manner not bound to the conventional paradigms of chemistry and biology. In biological chemistry research groups, we pursue a variety of missions for the advancement of biological chemistry from solving the fundamental mysteries of living organisms to contributing to society through applied biomedical research.
