1. Guidelines
Report using this form after reading the following three guidelines.*

2. Accounts

Once you have received the "Notification regarding password for the UTokyo Account", change the initial password(you cannot use the services with your initial password). Then, set up multi-factor authentication(MFA) for your UTokyo Acount.*
Once you have received the "Notification regarding passowrd for School of Science Account", change the initial password and register your email address.*
3. Email
- ECCS Cloud Email
- Department of Chemistry email address
ECCS Cloud Email is a Cloud Email service that is available to all users with a UTokyo Account. It gives users access to Google Workspace for Education. It is necessary to change the initial password for your UTokyo Account and setup multi-factor authentication for your UTokyo Account in advance. ECCS Cloud Email service will be unavailable when your UTokyo Account expires.
If you wish to obtain a Department of Chemistry email address, consult the person in charge of the netowrk in your laboratory. The Department of Chemistry email address(xxx@chem.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp) will be set up as an alias for ECCS Cloud Email(xxx@g.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp). Usage fees apply. Visit Gmail Help to send emails from xxx@chem.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp.
4. Connecting devices to the network
4-1. Application
You need to apply to connect your devices to the university network. Provide the following information to the person in charge of the network in your laboratory.
- MAC address
- School of Science VPN connection
- Operating system and its version or edition
- Anti-virus software
- User
- Building
- Room number
If any of the above information on the devices in use changes, or if you want to stop connecting them to the network, inform the person in charge of the network in your laboratory.

- School of Science VPN connection service(Use L2TP VPN.)
- UTokyo VPN
- EZproxy
You need to use this service when you access devices(printers, NAS etc.) connected to the department network.
When you access electronic resources (databases, e-journals, e-books) contracted by the University of Tokyo from your home or other off-campus locations, you have to use EZproxy.
5. Softwares
- UTokyo Microsoft Licence (Microsoft 365)
- Anti-virus software
- ChemOffice / ChemDraw: If you wish to use ChemOffice / ChemDraw, consult person in charge of the netowrk in your laboratory.
6. What to do bofore moving out/graduating
- Inform the person in charge of the network in your laboratory of stopping to connect your device to the network.
- If you are using software available under the university license (e.g. anti-virus software, Microsoft Office, ChemOffice/ChemDraw, etc.), uninstall it.
- Forwarding of emails to the department of chemistry email address after moving out/graduation
- Whether or not you wish to forward your email address after moving/graduating
- Forwarding period (either 180 days or 1 year)
- Forwarding address (only if you wish to forward for one year)
- The administrator sets up the forwarding (forwarding has not yet started)
- The University of Tokyo ECCS Cloud Mail Team (forwarding-noreply@google.com) will send an email to the forwarding recipient asking if the forwarding is approved.
- Click the URL in the email, click “確認(Confirm)” on the web page that appears, and then inform the administrator of your approval.
- The administrator activates the forwarding settings (forwarding is enabled).
If you are using your Department of Chemitry email address, inform the person in charge of the network in your laboratory of the following.
Forwarding for 180 days should be set up in your ECCS Cloud Email account before you move out or graduate. You cannot set up after moving out/graduation.
