Signature Ceremony, Reception, and Scientific Workshop

A new International Associated Laboratory “IM-LED (Impacting Materials with Light and Electric Fields and Watching Real Time Dynamics)” was launched.
The signature ceremony of this agreement took place on December 12, 2016, at the French Embassy in Japan.
The ceremony was held in the presence of French Ambassador, Mr. Thierry Dana, and Deputy Director of Institute of Physics, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Doc. Niels Keller, with participation of the representatives of CNRS, the four universities from France, Université de Rennes 1, Université de Nantes, Université du Maine, Université de Versailles de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and four universities from Japan, the University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tohoku University, and Kyoto University.

In the first part of the ceremony, chaired by Dr. Bertrand Toudic and Emeritus Professor Herve Cailleau (Université de Rennes 1), scientific talks were given by Prof. Eric Collet (Université de Rennes 1) and Prof. Shin-ichi Ohkoshi (The University of Tokyo), Prof. Shinya Koshihara (Tokyo Institute of Technology), Prof. Laurent Cario (Université de Nantes), Prof. Shinichiro Iwai (Tohoku University), Prof. Pascal Ruello (Université du Maine), Prof. Koichiro Tanaka (Kyoto University), and Prof. Kamel Boukheddaden (Université de Versailles de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines). Then, addresses were delivered by Ms. Cécile Asanuma-Brice (CNRS office in Tokyo), Prof. Ken Furuya (Executive Vice President of the University of Tokyo), Prof. Gabriel Caloz (Vice-president of Université de Rennes 1), Prof. Tadahiro Hayasaka (Dean of Graduate School of Science of Tohoku University), Prof. Alain Bui (Vice President of Université de Versailles de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines), Prof. Atsushi Moriwaki (Dean of Graduate School of Science of Kyoto University), Prof. Laurent Bourquin (Vice President of Université du Maine), Prof. Thierry Brousse (Vice President of Université de Nantes), and Prof. Makoto Ando (Executive Vice President for Research of Tokyo Institute of Technology).
The following signature ceremony began with congratulatory addresses from Mr. Thierry Dana (French Ambassador), Prof. Hiroo Fukuda (Dean of School of Science of the University of Tokyo), and Doc. Niels Keller (Director of INP CNRS), and then, the agreement was signed by Doc. Niels Keller (CNRS), Prof. Ken Furuya (The University of Tokyo), Prof. Hiroo Fukuda (The University of Tokyo), Prof. Gabriel Caloz (Université de Rennes 1), Prof. Tadahiro Hayasaka (Tohoku University), Prof. Thierry Brousse (Université de Nantes), Prof. Makoto Ando (Tokyo Institute of Technology), Prof. Tetsuo Okada (Tokyo Institute of Technology), Prof. Laurent Bourquin (Université du Maine), Prof. Atsushi Moriwaki (Kyoto University), and Prof. Alain Bui (Université de Versailles de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines).
The reception began with a toast from Prof. Ken Furuya.

International Workshop “IM-LED (Impacting Materials with Light and Electric Fields and Watching Real Time Dynamics)” was held on December 13, 2016, at Fukutake Hall at the University of Tokyo. Lectures were given by Prof. Eric Collet, Prof. Shin-ichi Ohkoshi, Prof. S. Koshihara, Prof. Sumio Ishihara, Dr. Maciej Lorenc, Prof. Seiji Miyashita, Prof. Pascal Ruello, Prof. Kamel Boukheddaden, Prof. Herve Cailleau, Prof. Shinichiro Iwai, Prof. Koichiro Tanaka, and Dr. Etienne Janod, and active discussions on future perspectives and scientific collaborations were held.
